In a recent enforcement effort, the General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia has announced the issuance of approximately 14,800 administrative decisions during the last month of Shawwal. These penalties were directed at both Saudi nationals and expatriates who breached residency, labor, and border security regulations.
Types of Violations and Penalties Imposed
The range of penalties issued includes prison sentences, monetary fines, and deportation for non-compliant individuals. These decisions were administered by the directorate’s specialized administrative committees operating in passport departments across the Kingdom.
Warning for Citizens, Residents, and Employers
Authorities have strongly warned all residents—whether citizens or expatriates—not to participate in illegal practices such as hiring, housing, transporting, or helping individuals who violate residency or labor regulations. This also includes concealing violators or assisting them in gaining employment, accommodation, or any form of logistical support.
Reporting Mechanisms for Violations
To maintain national security and legal integrity, the General Directorate of Passports urges the public to report any suspected violators. Reports can be made by dialing 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in all other regions of Saudi Arabia.
